Silly Yaks Hot Cross Buns Reviewed in the Herald-Sun
In another burst of media attention, Silly Yaks was asked by the Herald-Sun to provide Hot Cross Buns for a competitive taste test with some of the best that Melbourne's boutique bakeries and patisseries can devise. We provided samples of both the Traditional Hot Cross Buns and the Fruit Free Hot Cross Buns. Sadly, only the Traditional Hot Cross Buns were tested. The article was published in the Herald-Sun on Saturday the 13th of March, 2010. Overall, we're extremely pleased to be given a "B" mark in a taste testing where the other competitors were bakeries like Dench Bakers in North Fitzroy, Philippa's and Hootsen's! We were also extremely pleased to see that, with the exception of the offerings from Baker's Delight and Coles Lighter Living, our buns were actually cheaper than the other competitors! We're sure you'll agree that this is a pretty significant achievement for a 100% wheat free, 100% gluten free Hot Cross Bun when being judged against high-quality wheat-based versions! For those of you who haven't seen it, you can read the full article below.
